On the cliff there is a monument with a plate that illuminates the position: 38 ° 47 'N and 9 ° 30' E and the height 140 meters above Mediterranean level. The monument also bears the inscription: “Aqui ... Evil a terra acaba e o mar começa ...” “Here ... where the land ends and the sea begins ...” Which originates from the 17th century poet, Luís de Camões.

If you do not want to drive a car from e.g. Lisbon, there are buses from Sintra. You can take the train from Lisbon to Sintra - and take a break there - before taking the bus to Cabo da Roca. From here you can conveniently take a bus on to Cascais and then the regional train back to Lisbon.

In addition to the monument, there is also a tourist office/souvenir shop, a bar, as well as a lighthouse and a radio station. Furthermore, there is a bus stop very close. Bus 403 runs every hour between Cascais and Sintra via Cabo da Roca.
